This is what €1,000/month in rent will get you across the country
The rental market has fallen on tough times throughout Ireland, with demand for houses increasing while supply seems stagnant. This has led to inflation—and a per-monthly price surge—meaning that hard-earned cash of yours won’t stretch as far as it once did. However, not all rental regions are created equally when it comes to cost.
In a Q1 rental report released in May by property website daft.ie, figures reveal Dublin is the most expensive area to reside in. The figure below shows the average rental prices in the most expensive and least expensive areas of Ireland. Our own experiment showed us it is possible to get lovely spaces for at or under €1000 no matter where you are, but naturally there are cities where your money will go further.
The following post will give you a sampling of what you can currently rent for €1,000 or less in or around some of Ireland’s main cities: Cork, Limerick, Dublin, Waterford and Galway. We hope this provides you with a taste of the status of today’s rental market, and serves as a helpful reference for anyone who may be looking to relocate to one of these areas. Though €1,000 may not be able to provide you with the same rental unit it once did, you can still find a variety of quality accommodation throughout the country.
